Our workshop is over at Plot No. 676 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around outside. We spend our time working on various engineering jobs that come through the door. It’s the kind of place where your hands stay dirty most of the day because of the oil and metal we handle. The space isn't huge, but it fits our equipment and gives us enough room to get the work done. We’ve seen the estate change over the years, with new neighbors moving in and others moving out, but we’ve stayed put at 676. People usually find us when they have something specific that needs fixing or making. We don't spend much time on paperwork if we can help it; we’d rather be at the bench with the tools. The morning starts with a cup of tea and checking what needs to be finished from the day before. It gets hot in the summer under the metal roof, but we keep the fans going. It’s a steady kind of life, just making sure things are built right and machines keep running. Most of our tools are old but they work fine for what we do. If you're looking for us, just look for the sign near the plot gate. We usually have some scrap metal piled up in the corner waiting to be moved. It’s just how an engineering shop looks when it's being used for real work every day.
