Jindal Agro Processing Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Plot No. 296 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. We deal with agricultural processing, so the smells around our plot are usually a bit different from the chemical plants down the road. It’s a large plot, and we have a lot of machinery going throughout the day. The sound of processing is the background music to our lives here. We start work early, often before the sun is fully up, to beat the heat and get a head start on the day's load. The warehouse floor is where most of the action happens. It’s often covered in dust from the raw materials, and we are constantly cleaning up only for it to get dirty again. That’s just the nature of agro-business. We have a small office attached to the main shed where we keep the records. It is functional, with old wooden desks and plenty of files stacked up. We don't have any interest in being a big corporate entity with shiny glass windows. We prefer the practical side of things. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time, and we know each other's families. It feels more like a small community inside the GIDC than a big company. We stay at Plot 296 until the work is done, then we head home and do it again the next day. It’s a long day, but it’s what we know how to do best.
