Jayplast Industries

Down at Plot No. 236 in the GIDC Industrial Estate, you’ll find Jayplast Industries. We aren't hard to find if you know where the main gate is. It’s a typical industrial unit, with high ceilings and the smell of plastic always hanging in the air. Some days it’s stronger than others. We spend most of our time standing on our feet, checking things and making sure the machines are behaving. It is a long walk from the tea stall to the back of the plot, so we usually take turns bringing back enough for everyone. The walls could use some cleaning, and the floor is never really spotless no matter how much we sweep, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We’ve been at this for a while now, and the neighbors at Plot 235 and 237 are basically like family. We borrow tools from each other and complain about the road conditions whenever it rains. There isn't much to say about why we do this, it’s just the work we have. We don't have a fancy website or a big office in the city. Everything happens right here on the shop floor. It’s loud, it’s a bit messy, and it’s usually quite hot, but it’s our routine. If you ever stop by, don’t expect a showroom. You’ll just see us working around the machines in the middle of GIDC.
