Our place, Gilbert Maxwell Elect Pvt. Ltd., is tucked away at Plot No. 303-17 in the GIDC Ind. Estate. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, but we’ve been at this location for quite some time. The estate is a maze of similar-looking plots, but we’ve made this one ours. Inside, it’s all about the daily routine. We have benches set up and tools everywhere you look. It’s not a showroom. It’s a place where things are made and handled. Sometimes the inventory piles up near the door and we have to shuffle things around to make a path. We don't mind the clutter as long as we know where everything is. The lighting in the back isn't the best, but we know the layout by heart. Working at GIDC means you’re surrounded by other people doing the same thing—trying to get the job done and get home. We see the same faces every day at the local tea shop. The building at Plot No. 303-17 has its quirks, like the window that doesn't quite close all the way and the way the floor slopes near the loading area. It doesn't bother us. Gilbert Maxwell Elect Pvt. Ltd. is just our home base. We come in, we do what needs doing, and we try to keep things organized enough to start again the next morning.
