Columbia Industries

Over at Plot No. 260 in the Gidc Ind. Estate, we have got Columbia Industries set up. It is a decent-sized space but we have managed to fill it up with all sorts of heavy machinery over the years. We make components for several different industrial sectors. It is not the kind of work that gets you noticed, but it is important to the people who buy from us. Our day starts early, usually before the sun is fully up. We like to get a head start before the estate gets too crowded with delivery trucks. The walls could really use a fresh coat of paint, but we would rather spend that money on better drill bits or fixing the forklift. We do not have any dedicated sales people. If you want something, you just talk to the foreman. He has been here since the beginning and knows where every single bolt is kept. We do not use much technology for the paperwork side of things. There are plenty of old ledgers and handwritten notes lying around the desks. It works for us and we are used to it. We have seen other companies come and go, but we just keep our heads down and keep the machines running. We are not looking to expand into some big corporation. We like being a local shop where you know the names of everyone working the shift.
