Bharat Electricals

If you come down to Plot No. 303-20 in Gidc, you’ll find Bharat Electricals. It’s a place full of wires, small components, and the smell of solder that hangs in the air. We spend most of our time hunched over workbenches or looking at old diagrams that have seen better days. It is not a clean place; there is always some bit of copper wire or insulation on the floor no matter how often we sweep. We moved into this plot a while back and just haven't found a reason to leave. The Gidc can be a tough place to work during the monsoon when the roads get muddy and the drains overflow, but we manage. We aren't some big corporation with a fancy website or a marketing department. Most of our work comes from people who just know us from around the industrial estate. They drop off something broken, like a motor or a switch, and we see if we can get it running again. Sometimes we can fix it, and sometimes it’s just too far gone for us to help. We are pretty honest about that. The lighting in the back of the shop is a bit dim, but we have our desk lamps for the detailed stuff. It’s a simple life for us. We work six days a week and usually take Sundays off to rest.
