Our lab is located at Plot No. 495-7 8 within the Gidc Industrial Estate. It is one of those spots that is quite easy to drive past if you are not looking for the sign. We do a lot of testing and scientific work here. It is generally much quieter than the heavy factories located next door to us. We have plenty of glass jars, beakers, and machines that beep when they finish a cycle. It is mostly just white walls and clean tables throughout the building. We have been in this part of the industrial estate for a good bit of time now. Most of the people working on this street know each other. We have a small team here. These are people who actually care about getting the results right. We don't do much talking or socializing during the day. We just run the tests and record the data. It is not like the science stuff you see on television. It involves a lot of waiting for samples to settle or for machines to finish their runs. We deal with various liquids and chemicals every day. Sometimes the smells are a bit strong, but we have gotten used to it over the years. The estate is always busy with trucks, but inside the lab, things stay pretty steady. We have our daily routine of checking the instruments and getting to work. It is just a practical, honest way to make a living.
