Madina Book Store

Madina Book Store is located in the Sardar Industrial Estate, specifically in Friends Colony. We are in a building called Gaekwad Plaza on Jassia Road. If you find the City Police Station, you are basically there because we are right opposite it. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a book store, being in an industrial estate, but it works for us. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with books of all kinds. We have stacks in the corners and piles on the counters. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a stack of magazines just to find a place to lean. We don't have a computer system to tell us exactly where everything is; we just know by heart. The air is a bit heavy with the scent of paper, which is nice. Outside, the industrial estate is always humming with noise, but inside it’s a bit quieter. We get a mix of people coming in—some looking for specific textbooks and others just wanting something to read. We don't do fancy displays or window dressing. The books are the main thing. It’s a humble little shop and we like it that way. Being across from the police station makes it easy for people to give directions. We just stay busy shelving new arrivals and helping folks find what they need.
