Our place is right over in Odhav, near the Gauri Cinema. If you know N.H. No.-8, you know it gets loud and crowded with all the trucks passing by. We’re at 10 Rajdeep Park Duplex. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, but we make it work for what we need. Most of us here at Macons Equipment have been around this part of Ahmedabad for years. We see the same faces every day. It’s not a corporate headquarters with hundreds of floors. It’s just a duplex where we handle our business and talk to customers. Sometimes the traffic on the highway makes it hard to get in or out, but that’s just life in Gujarat. We don’t have fancy lunchrooms or gym setups. We usually just grab something from the stalls nearby or bring a tiffin from home. The office has seen better days, maybe, but the chairs are comfortable enough to sit in for a long shift. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at stacks of paperwork. It’s honest work. When people come by, they usually just walk in and ask for what they need. We don’t go for big presentations. Just plain talk about the equipment and how to get it shipped. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows shut and the coolers running. That’s pretty much how it goes for us.
