Mascot Offset Printers

You have to come up to the second floor of Lalitkunj to find us. It is not a very big building, but we have our offset printing machines set up there. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying boxes of paper. The whole place smells like fresh ink and chemicals, which you get used to after an hour. We have stacks of paper everywhere, some waiting to be printed and some already finished and waiting to be picked up. The machines make a rhythmic clicking sound that fills the room all day. It’s not a fancy corporate office with carpets. We have simple floors and a few desks where we check the proofs. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet, which is a bit strange for us. We spend a lot of time adjusting the rollers and checking the colors on the sheets. Lalitkunj is a regular building, nothing special to look at from the outside. Being on the second floor means we don't get as much dust from the street, which is good for the printing process. We usually have the fans running full blast because the machines give off some heat. It is a lot of manual work, moving heavy reams of paper around and keeping the ink levels right. We just do our job and keep the orders moving along. Sometimes the deadlines get tight but we manage to stay on top of things.
