You can find us at the Atladra site in Vadodara. We are Lafarge Aggregate And Concrete India Pvt. Ltd. and we mostly focus on the production side of things here. It is a dusty environment, which is pretty standard for anyone working with concrete and aggregate. We have our equipment set up and the yard is usually full of piles of stone. Vadodara is a growing city, so there is always a demand for what we do. We don't really have a big public-facing office. It’s more of a functional workspace where the focus is on the materials. Most of our day is spent making sure the mixers are running right and the supply is ready for the trucks. We deal with a lot of different people, from site managers to individual contractors. We don't use any corporate jargon or fancy talk. We just tell people what we have and when it can be there. It’s a practical business. The sun gets pretty intense here in Gujarat, so we try to do the heaviest lifting in the cooler hours if possible. There is always a lot of dust in the air, so you learn not to mind it after a while. We are just a group of workers trying to do a solid job. It’s not complicated, just hard work and a lot of movement. We keep the machines maintained and the orders moving as best as we can. It's a living and we're used to the grit.
