Our office, Jayesh Thakkar & Company, is located at 3 Raopura in the Lalbaug area. We are positioned directly opposite the Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple and we are also quite close to Jubileebaug. Being right across from the temple means there is always something happening right outside our window, especially during the festival days when the bells are ringing and the crowds are everywhere. It makes it a very lively and interesting part of the city to work in. The office itself is fairly traditional. We have got the same old wooden desks and shelves full of thick folders that have been there for as long as I can remember. We are not interested in being the most modern or high-tech place in town. We just want to do our work properly for the local people who trust us. Jayesh is usually around the office most days, though sometimes he has to head out to meet people or handle things across the city. We have a small crew here who really know how things work. It is the kind of place where we know all our neighbors and always stop to chat with them on the way inside. You will not find any fancy coffee machines or expensive lounge chairs in our space. It is just a place for work. People come to us because they know we have been here a long time and we do not play games. We just say things how they are.
