Our office for J M Jadav & Co is up on the third floor of Shree Ram Chamber. R C Dutt Road is always moving, so there is plenty of noise from the street below. Being in Alkapuri means we are right in the middle of everything. The Circuit House is just across the way, which makes it easy to explain our location to anyone coming over. Inside the office, things are pretty basic. We have our desks, some old cupboards for the files, and the usual computer setups. It’s not a corporate showroom. It’s just where we handle the books and the taxes. Sometimes the lift in the building takes a minute, so a lot of people just take the stairs if they aren't carrying too much. We start early and usually stay until the work is finished for the day. There’s no big secret to how we operate. We just take the papers people bring us and sort them out as they come. Vadodara has a lot of offices like ours, but we like this corner of the city. The light comes in nicely through the windows in the afternoon. We don’t have a big staff, so it’s usually the same faces you see every time you walk in. It’s a quiet routine we have going here. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized among all the stacks of folders.
