You can find us at 4 Vinod Baugh, just behind Hotel Sanman near the Jetalpur Bridge in Alkapuri. It’s a specific kind of place because we deal with cancer here. It’s heavy work and we know that. The building is situated in a way that’s a bit off the main road, near the bridge. We have rooms for treatment and places for people to stay. It’s not a happy-go-lucky kind of environment but we try to keep things steady. We don't use a lot of fancy medical jargon when we talk to people because it doesn't help much. We just explain what’s happening as clearly as we can. Alkapuri is a busy area but we’ve got our own little corner here. The staff at Himalaya Cancer Hospital has seen a lot over the years. We aren't part of some massive international corporation with a shiny logo. We are just here in Alkapuri doing this specific work. It takes a lot of patience from everyone involved. We have the machines and the medicine but mostly it’s just people talking to people. Sometimes the machines are loud and the days are very long. We don't put out brochures with fake smiling people on them. We just deal with the reality of what our patients are going through every day. It’s honest work and it’s what we do at Vinod Baugh. We stay focused on the task at hand and get through it.
