Gurjar Hasmukhbhai Ramnarayan

If you know where Ratan Pole corner is in Fatepura, then you know exactly where we are. We are situated on the second floor, right near the old Champaner Gate. It’s one of those parts of town that feels like it’s been there forever. Gurjar Hasmukhbhai Ramnarayan is the name on the door, but most people just know us by sight. The building is old and has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. From the windows, you can see the crowds heading into the market areas. It gets incredibly loud during the festival seasons, but we’ve gotten used to working through the noise over the years. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting lounge; you just walk in and talk to whoever is available. The desks are a bit cluttered with ledgers and pens, and there’s always a stack of newspapers in the corner. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks who drop by to ask questions or settle things. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, I suppose. There’s no fancy air conditioning throughout the whole place, just some old fans that wobble a bit. It’s a humble spot but it serves its purpose for what we do every day. The location is the best part because everything is within walking distance. We've been here so long that the walls and the creaky floorboards feel like home.
