Living and working around the Petrochemicals Village is a bit different from the city. Most people here are connected to the plants in one way or another. We are Gujarat Alkalies And Chemicals Ltd, and our post is right here in the middle of it. It’s a big site with a lot of pipes, tanks, and machinery that never really stops humming. You get used to the noise after a few days, honestly. We have a lot of people coming in for their shifts, and the canteen is usually the place where you hear all the news. Our work involves a lot of technical stuff with chemicals, but at the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of people making sure everything runs safely. We aren't doing anything flashy. We just monitor the levels, check the valves, and keep the production going. It gets pretty humid out here sometimes, which makes the outdoor work a bit of a slog, but we have a good group of workers who have been here for years. They know the plant better than anyone. We get our supplies in and send our products out on the big tankers that roll through the village daily. It is a busy life, and there is always something to fix or look after. We just try to keep things steady and make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.
