Shakti Agricultral Industries

Our workshop is over in Gorwa, right near the Hariram Temple. If you know that part of town, you know it is a mix of small houses and little shops. We make tools and different types of equipment for farmers, like parts for tractors or tillers. It is a dusty kind of job, and the shop is always noisy because of the welding and metal cutting going on. Most of the guys working here live nearby in the Gorwa area. We open up pretty early in the morning because farmers like to come by before they head out to their fields. Sometimes someone will bring in a broken plow that looks like it is thirty years old, and we see if we can fix it up for them. It is not always easy to find the right metal or parts, but we try our best to get it sorted. The temple is a good landmark if you are visiting for the first time. You can hear the bells ringing throughout the day while we are working. We do not have a big showroom with lights and displays. It is just a yard with some finished machines and a big shed where the work gets done. The floors are usually covered in metal shavings and oil. We just focus on making things that are strong enough for the dirt. It is hard work and our hands are usually greasy by lunchtime. We don't use the computer much unless we need to order more steel.
