Emic Electricals

We’ve been operating out of Essen House at 5/12 BIDC Gorwa for a long time. Our mailing address is P. O. Box No. 3008, but most people just walk in if they need something electrical. The building has that old industrial feel to it, and we haven't changed much over the years. We have shelves full of parts that have been there since we opened, mixed in with the newer stuff. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know where you’re looking. Most of our day is spent testing circuits or looking through catalogs to find a specific part for a customer. It is dusty work, and your fingers always end up a bit black from handling cables and switches. We don’t have a fancy website or a bunch of salespeople. We just know our way around a fuse box and a motor. The Gorwa area is always humming with activity, and we are just one small part of that noise. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a repair, and the only sound is the hum of the transformer outside. It’s a steady life. We don’t make any big promises, we just try to fix what’s broken and keep the lights on for the people who come to us. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it long enough that it feels natural. We are right there at Essen House, and the door is usually open.
