Our workshop is located at C-31/A in the Sardar Estate. If you are driving down Ajwa Road, you have probably passed by this area plenty of times. Working with scientific glass isn’t exactly a quiet or a cool job to have. It gets quite warm around the burners, especially during the summer months here when the humidity picks up. We have been making various glass pieces for labs and different industries for a long time under the name Goel Scientific Glass Works. It takes a steady hand and a lot of patience to get the shapes right. Not everything comes out perfect on the first try, so there is a lot of redoing things and checking for tiny cracks. The estate is full of all sorts of businesses, but you can usually tell ours by the specific clinking sounds of glass bottles and tubes. We aren't a massive factory with robots; it's mostly just people sitting at benches focusing on their torches and tools. Our floors usually have a bit of glass dust no matter how much we sweep at the end of the shift. We keep our supplies stacked in the back and try to keep up with the orders that come in through the main gate. Some days are much slower than others, which gives us time to clean the equipment. It is honest work and we have gotten pretty good at it over the many years we've been here. We don't spend much on decorating the front office.
