Standard Castings

Plot No. 348 is where you can find us. It’s a simple building that doesn't stand out much from the others on the block. Inside, things are pretty basic. We have the space laid out for the work we do, which is mostly about castings. There is a lot of heavy stuff moving around, so the floor has some cracks and marks. It’s a working environment, not a fancy office. We have some old shelves where we keep the molds and tools we use every day. The air is always a bit heavy because of the processes involved. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. If someone asks, we just show them the pieces we are working on. The lighting isn't great, but we have enough lamps over the work areas to see what we are doing. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we know where everything is without even looking. Sometimes a stray dog wanders in looking for some shade, and we don't really mind. It's a quiet enough spot compared to the busier parts of town. We have a small kettle for making tea in the afternoons. It’s a good way to take a break before finishing up the last few tasks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the building. It’s just a place where the work gets finished and the day goes by.
