Shree Kedarnath Saw Mill

We are located at Plot No. 770 and 771 on Road-b. Having two plots gives us a decent amount of space for all the wood we have to store. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of sawdust and fresh-cut timber. It is a heavy scent that stays on your clothes long after you leave. We spend our days moving logs and running them through the big saws. It is hard work and it gets quite loud, so we use a lot of hand signals to talk to each other when the blades are spinning. The ground is almost always covered in a layer of fine dust, no matter how much we sweep. We have stacks of planks piled high, waiting to be sent out to furniture makers or construction sites. The machines we use are old but reliable. We know exactly how they sound when they are running right. Sometimes a neighbor from Road-b will stop by just to chat or ask for some scraps for their stove. We do not mind. It is a friendly enough spot. We keep our paperwork in a small wooden shack near the front gate. It is nothing fancy, just a place to keep the rain off the ledgers. We have been cutting wood here for years and we know the grain of every local tree. It is what we do.
