Kerala Tyre ( Vulcanizing Works )

Down at Plot No. 334/1, you’ll find us at Kerala Tyre. We handle vulcanizing works, which basically means we fix up tires that have seen better days. It’s a hands-on job, and our hands are almost always black from the rubber and the grease. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV or anything like that. Most people just stand around or sit on a stool while we work on their tires. The plot is right on the edge of the busy area, so we get a lot of trucks pulling in with punctures or worn-out treads. It’s hard work, especially when the tires are heavy and the sun is beating down on the yard in the afternoon. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we’ve seen every kind of tire damage you can imagine. We don't use a lot of fancy equipment, mostly just the stuff that has worked for years. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it so the trucks can keep moving on the road. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to get the rubber patched up right. If you’re passing by 334/1 and your tires look a bit low or shaky, that’s what we’re here for. It’s just a plain, honest shop.
