Crown Heat Treaters

Down at Plot No. 1021, we run Crown Heat Treaters. It’s a hot job, literally. The furnaces are running most of the day, so it stays warm even in the winter. We deal with metal parts that need hardening or tempering. It’s a lot of waiting for temperatures to hit the right mark. We use old thermometers and some newer gauges too. The walls are a bit charred in places from years of work. We don’t mind it. It’s an industrial space, not a showroom. You’ll see us in heavy gloves and aprons most of the time. It’s not the kind of work you can do without getting a bit sweaty. We’ve been at this plot for a good while now. Our neighbors are other workshops, so the noise doesn't bother anyone. We have a small area out front where we park the scooters. Inside, it’s mostly just the equipment and racks for the parts. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just bring their metal over and we tell them when it will be ready. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble, but that’s part of the business. It’s just us, some ovens, and a lot of metal. That’s what happens at Plot No. 1021 every single day.
