Evotecture

Evotecture is tucked away in Akoto at T-7. It’s where we spend most of our waking hours. If you walked in, you’d probably see stacks of drawings and a few half-empty tea cups scattered around. We aren't the tidiest bunch, but we know where everything is. The space is filled with computers and large tables for looking at blueprints. Akoto is a good spot for us because it’s central enough to get around. Some days are spent entirely on site, getting our boots dirty and seeing how things are actually being built. Other days, we’re just stuck in the office staring at screens until our eyes hurt. It’s a lot of drafting and recalculating. We don’t always agree on the best way to handle a design, so there’s some arguing now and then, but it’s all part of the process. We’ve been working from T-7 for a while and have gotten used to the quirks of the building. The elevator is slow, so we usually take the stairs. It’s a lot of hard work that people don’t always see when they look at a finished building. We just focus on the drawings and the structural stuff that needs to happen. It's a job like any other, really. We try to keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on our desks. It’s what we do every day, and we try not to overthink things too much in the process.
