Our place is right by the K K Nagar Char Rasta in Karelibaug. If you know that intersection, you know how loud and busy it gets with all the rickshaws and bikes. We are at C/28, tucked away just enough from the main chaos. At Energe Capacitors, we spend our time dealing with electrical components which might sound boring to some people, but it keeps us busy. The workbench is usually covered in little silver cans and wires. Sometimes I feel like I’ve spent half my life looking at circuit boards and testing for faults. The shop is small and we’ve got shelves stacked high with boxes that really need better labels. My nephew helps out sometimes, but mostly it’s just a couple of us making sure everything is built right. The windows stay shut because of the dust from the road, so it gets a bit stuffy in here by noon. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, so we usually know who is walking past just by the sound of their voice. It’s a decent spot for a business like ours. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. People just find us because they need their capacitors and we happen to be here. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there is something nice about finishing a batch and seeing them all lined up ready to go. The floor is concrete and cold in the winter, but you get used to it.
