Dy Minechem

Our place, Dy Minechem, is at 27-A in the Nandesari Industril Estate. We are right by Gulabchand Park and not far from Ambalal Park either. Nandesari is a place where you see a lot of chemical businesses, so the air always has a bit of a sharp tang to it. We deal with various industrial chemicals and minerals. It involves moving a lot of heavy bags and making sure the storage stays dry, which is a struggle during the monsoon season when the roof leaks a little. The space is mostly filled with inventory, leaving just a tiny area for the desk and a couple of chairs. It is not the kind of place where you host fancy meetings. Most of our day is spent checking the weight of things and loading them onto trucks. It is repetitive work, and your clothes always end up stained with whatever we were moving that day. We have been here for a long time. The local tea seller knows our order by heart because we go there every afternoon. It’s a rough and ready kind of business. We don’t have a big corporate structure, just a few of us making sure the orders go out to the right people. It is a bit dusty and the work is physical, but we are used to it by now. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily tasks.
