Chaitali Milind Architect

My office is located in Sri Daulat Society on Karve Road, right in the Manjalpur area. It’s a comfortable spot where I do all my architectural work. I’ve been working as an architect for quite a while, and being in Manjalpur feels right because it’s a community I know well. The office is part of the society, so it has a very local, neighborly feel to it. I don't have a big corporate team; it’s a more personal setup. When clients come in, we usually sit down with a cup of tea and look at their ideas on a messy table full of papers. I spend a lot of time drawing and then redrawing things until they make sense for the space available. Karve Road is a busy place, but once you step into the society, it gets a bit calmer, which is better for thinking. I handle everything from small renovations to larger building projects. I don’t like using complicated language to explain a design. If a wall needs to be there for support, I just say that. The goal is always to make a building that works for the people living in it. Most of my work comes from word of mouth around Manjalpur. People see a house I worked on and then they find my office in Sri Daulat Society. It’s a simple way of doing business, but it has worked for me for years and I like it.
