Bipin A Katkiya

Bipin A Katkiya here. My shop is in Mandvi, right near the Sultanpura Cross Road. It's an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and usually full of people. I like it that way. You can always hear the scooters and the vendors calling out. My place is small, just enough room for the essentials. I don't have a lot of fancy furniture. I have a sturdy stool and a workbench that has seen a lot of use over the years. I focus on the work at hand. I don't spend much time worrying about the decor. People come to me because they know I'm always here. I open up early and usually stay late. Sometimes I sit out front for a bit when the sun goes down just to catch a breeze. The cross road is a good landmark for people trying to find me. If you get to Sultanpura, you’re basically there. I've worked in this area my whole life. My father did something similar. I just kept the tradition going. I don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to talk to me, they just come by. We have a tea and figure out the details. It's a simple way of doing things. I keep my tools sharp and my workspace as tidy as I can manage.
