Our place is up on the fifth floor of Manubhai Tower, which is in Sayajigun. We are right across from the Arts Faculty of the university. It’s a busy spot, always full of students and people rushing to catch buses. Being in 502/B gives us a bit of a view, though mostly we are looking at the roofs of other buildings. The elevator in the tower can be a bit slow, so we often end up waiting in the lobby chatting with other tenants. The office itself is nothing special to look at. We have the usual stuff like computers, printers, and a lot of pens that seem to go missing. It’s a functional space. We don’t spend money on fancy furniture or art for the walls. We prefer to just keep things simple and focus on the work. The noise from the university campus filters up sometimes, especially during festivals or protests. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of this part of town. The morning starts with opening the windows to let some air in before it gets too hot. Most of our day is spent reading through documents and talking to people who come by. It’s a very ordinary office life. We’ve been in Manubhai Tower for a long time, so we know the security guards and the lift operators by name. It’s just where we do our business every day without any extra flash or pretense. We keep the kettle going for tea all afternoon.
