Asha Paints

Asha Paints has been set up at D-4 in the Sardar Estate for quite some time now. We are right off Ajwa Road, which is a busy enough place to be. The estate itself is full of different businesses, so there is always something going on around us. Our shop is filled with rows and rows of paint tins. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in a bit because we have so much stock piled up, but we managed to find a way to make it work. We don't have a lot of fancy signs or lights outside. It’s just the name on the door and the address. Most of the people who come to see us are locals who are doing some work on their homes or contractors from around Ajwa Road. We spend a lot of our time shaking cans and looking through color charts. It’s a bit of a repetitive job, but there’s something nice about the rhythm of it. The floor is stained with a hundred different colors from all the times things have spilled over the years. We don't bother cleaning it too much because it just happens again the next day. It’s a practical place for practical work. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet while we work through the daily list of chores.
