We've been at the Sun-Moon Building on Laheripura New Road for a long time now. Most days it’s just the sound of metal and machines running on the ground floor. We make valves and fittings. It’s dusty work but someone has to do it. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud but we just keep at the lathe. It isn’t fancy here. We have some old desks and stacks of paperwork that probably need filing. Most of the guys have been here for years. We know where every tool is even if it looks like a mess to someone walking in off the street. Making these parts is what we know. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Usually, customers just drop by or call the landline. We try to get the orders out on time but things happen. The machines break down sometimes. We fix them and get back to it. It’s just how things go in a small shop like this. We handle a lot of brass and steel. The floor is usually covered in shavings by lunchtime. We sweep up and start over the next day. It’s honest work. Nothing more to it. If you need a specific fitting, we usually have it or can figure out how to get it done. The street outside is always busy, so parking is a pain. We just make do with the space we have and keep the production going.
