We are based out in Maneja, which is a bit of a distance from the main city center. It’s a large site and there is always something going on. You can see the cranes and the big structures from quite a way off. My desk is in one of the older buildings on the property. It’s not exactly modern, but it does the job. We spend a lot of time looking at project plans and talking to the engineers. There’s a lot of walking involved because the site is so spread out. Sometimes I have to head over to the other side of the yard to check on a delivery, and it takes a good ten minutes. The canteen is the main gathering spot where everyone catches up on what’s happening. It’s a noisy place with people from all different departments. Maneja has its own feel, a bit more industrial and rugged. We don't have the fancy glass walls you see in city offices. Instead, we have concrete floors and heavy-duty doors. The work is steady and there’s always a new project starting just as another one is finishing up. We deal with a lot of technical stuff, but at the end of the day, it’s just about getting the parts moved and the structures built. It’s a big operation, but we just focus on our own small part of it and try to keep things moving along.
