We have been operating out of C-16/17 in the Sardar Industrial Estate for quite a few years now. It is located right on Ajwa Road in Vadodara, which is a busy spot with trucks and bikes going past all day long. Our shed isn't anything special to look at, just a regular industrial unit where we keep our machines and the raw materials we need. Most mornings start with the sound of the heavy shutters being rolled up and the first round of tea from the stall at the corner. The air in the estate always has that smell of grease and metal, which you just get used to after a while. We spend a lot of our time just checking the pieces and making sure everything is running. It can get really hot in the middle of the day, so we usually slow down a bit and then pick up the pace once the sun starts to go down. My brother handles some of the paperwork at a small desk tucked in the back, while I am mostly on the floor. People from the other units often stop by just to see how things are going or to borrow a spanner. It’s a very local way of doing things, no fancy meetings or anything like that. We just try to get the orders ready on time so the delivery guys aren't waiting around. It is basic work but it keeps us busy from morning to night. We have been here for ages and know everyone.
