Ajay Patel & Co

Ajay Patel & Co is located right in the Sainath Complex, which is a pretty well-known spot if you’re familiar with the Pratapnagar area. We are on the first floor, suite 101. It’s convenient being right next to Vihar Cinema because everyone knows where that is, so giving directions isn't usually a problem. The building itself has that older Vadodara feel to it, where things are solid but you can tell it’s seen some years. Every morning the routine is the same. I get here, unlock the shutter, and let some air in before the humidity starts to build up. The traffic outside can get a bit loud with the buses and autos going toward the station, but you get used to the background noise after a few weeks. It’s not a quiet library, that’s for sure. Inside, we have our desks set up with the usual computers and stacks of folders that never seem to get smaller no matter how much we work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with expensive furniture or anything. It’s just a place where we do our jobs. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall downstairs when things get a bit slow in the afternoon. People from around the neighborhood drop in from time to time just to ask things or settle their business. It’s a busy part of town and we’ve become a small part of the landscape here over time. It is what it is.
