Accountant Deepak Patel

Deepak Patel here. I’ve been running my accounting practice out of 301, Sagun Flate for a good while now. We are tucked away in Kasturi Nager, right behind Shreyas School in the Manjalpur area of Vadodara. It’s a fairly quiet spot, which is good because accounting needs a lot of focus. I spend most of my days dealing with ledger entries, tax filings, and the mountain of paperwork that comes with GST. The flat isn't a high-end corporate office. It’s just a functional space with a couple of desks, a few chairs for visitors, and shelves overflowing with files. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped, especially when it’s near the end of the financial year and everyone is rushing to get their returns done at the same time. I don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People usually find me through word of mouth or because they live in the neighborhood. My routine is pretty simple. I come in, make some tea, and start going through the stacks of bills and receipts. The school nearby means it gets a bit noisy during the afternoons when the kids leave, but otherwise, it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and my calculator. I try to be honest with people about their numbers, even when the news isn't great. It’s practical work. I just spend my time making sure the books stay straight so they don’t run into trouble later on.
