A R C Parcel Service

Down here on the main road at Por, things are pretty straightforward. We’re at number 41 on the stretch between Surat and Navsari. If you’ve ever driven that way, you know the road is always full of trucks and buses. It’s a loud place to work, but you get used to the sound of the engines pretty fast. We’re right there on the main path, so it makes it easy for the drivers to pull in. The building is simple, just enough space for what we need to handle the parcels. There’s usually a lot of dust because of the traffic, so we’re always sweeping. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving boxes from one side to the other. I keep a logbook on the desk that’s getting pretty worn out now. We don’t use any of those high-tech systems you hear about, just pen and paper and a bit of elbow grease. The sun can be really strong in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy work done early. Sometimes we share a tea with the drivers who stop by. It’s a hardworking atmosphere. No one is wearing a suit here, just regular clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. It’s just the way the parcel business goes on the highway. We’ve been at this spot for a while and we just keep the parcels moving every single day.
