A K Patel

A K Patel is situated on Palace Road in the Chembur Colony area. It is a very busy part of town because we are right opposite the Khanderav Market. There is always the sound of people shouting and trucks unloading goods across the way. It makes the day go by fast because there is always something to watch out the window. We are also near Jaldhara, which is a landmark most people in the neighborhood are familiar with. The office is small and it can get a bit crowded when more than two people visit at once. We’ve got an old air conditioner that makes a lot of noise but doesn't always keep it cool. A K is usually busy with something or other, but he always has time for a quick chat. We don’t follow any corporate rules here. We just work in a way that makes sense to us. The furniture is a bit mismatched because we bought pieces at different times over the years. We don't have any big lists of goals or fancy posters on the wall. We just want to do our daily tasks and help out the people who come to us. Most of our work comes from word of mouth from people who have been coming to this market for years. It is a very traditional way of doing things, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It is just a small local spot for us.
