You can find Aslamsham Architects over at 1/584 Cherukulam in Kozhikode. The office is right there in the Cherukulam area, which has its own local feel compared to the busier parts of the city. Our building is a simple structure where we handle all the architectural tasks that come our way. We have a couple of big tables for laying out the blueprints because you really need the space to see the whole picture at once. It’s not a high-tech studio with flashing lights; it’s mostly just us, our computers, and a lot of pens. We spend a good chunk of the day drawing and redrawing lines until they look right. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is helpful when you’re trying to concentrate on a difficult structural problem. We have a few shelves filled with old files and some books on architecture that have seen better days. It’s a practical place for people who actually do the work. Sometimes we have clients come in to look at the progress of their plans, and we just pull up a stool and show them what we’ve been working on. There’s no big corporate hierarchy here, just a small team getting the drawings done. We’ve become part of the local scenery in Cherukulam over time. It’s a basic, honest workspace where the focus is always on the next set of plans we have to finish for whoever walks through the door next.
