If you want to find us, you’ve got to head out to Dandeli, specifically over in Kariyampalli. We are out in the Haliyal area of Uttara Kannada. It’s a very different world out here compared to the big cities like Bangalore. We are right by the post office in Kariyampalli. The air is different and you can hear the river nearby if it’s a quiet day. We spend most of our time dealing with the resort and the people who come to visit the woods. It’s a lot of outdoor work and making sure the grounds are kept up. Fortunewoods isn't run from some fancy office; we are right there on the land. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when the rains come heavy in Karnataka. We have to deal with muddy roads and power cuts now and then, but that’s just part of living and working in this part of the country. It’s a practical life. We don't have much use for suits or formal meetings out here. It’s more about checking the river levels and making sure the guest areas are okay. The local community is small, and everyone knows where the post is. We’ve been here for a while and we’ve learned how to work with the land. It’s a bit of a trek to get here, but for us, it’s just where we live and work every single day. No fuss about it really.
