About Ashwini Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Uttara Kannada
We've been running Ashwini Rice Mill here in Village Bandal for quite some time now. Being in Taluk Sirsi, right in the middle of North Kanara, means we are surrounded by farms and people we've known forever. It is a quiet place most days, but during harvest time, things get really busy around the mill. We mostly spend our time making sure the machines are running okay and that the paddy gets processed without too many issues. It's just a regular local operation, nothing fancy at all. Sometimes the rain in North Kanara makes things a bit slow, but we just keep at it. People from the village stop by often, not just for work but just to talk for a bit. We know most of our neighbors by name. It is hard work, especially when the humidity is high, but that’s how it goes in a place like Bandal. We don't have a big office or anything like that, just the mill itself where everything happens. Usually, you can find one of us near the gates or inside checking on the sacks. We just do our job day in and day out, trying to keep up with what needs to be done. It's not always easy, but we are used to the routine of life here in this part of the world. We don't worry much about what others are doing, we just focus on the rice.
