Fresh Spices

You can find Fresh Spices out in Vill- Kaliaganj. We are in a quiet area, and our mail comes through Post- Paharpur. It is a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here. Life in the village is slow compared to the city, which suits us just fine. We deal with spices because that’s what we know. The air smells like turmeric and coriander most days. Sometimes the wind blows the scent across the fields. We don't have a big fancy storefront. It’s just a simple building where we do the work. Most of our neighbors are farmers or people we’ve known for years. We do a lot of the work by hand. It’s dusty and sometimes loud when the machines are running, but it’s honest work. The road to Paharpur can be a bit bumpy after the monsoon rains. We have to watch the weather closely so the spices don't get damp. Dampness is the enemy of good spice. We spend our mornings checking the stock and the afternoons packing things up. It’s a small operation. Just a few of us making sure everything is handled right. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are in Kaliaganj. It’s a peaceful place to work. You can hear the birds in the trees nearby when the machines are off. It isn't much to look at, but it’s our place and we’ve been here for years. We like the quiet life here.
