Ali Ice Cream Mill

Ali Ice Cream Mill is over in Vill- Lal Bazar, which is part of the Asharu Basti area. We are out here in Islampur in the Uttar Dinajpur district. It’s a rural place, so things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. Our mill is a simple building where we have our equipment set up. We don’t have any fancy signs or big glass windows. It’s mostly about the practical side of making things. We have to deal with the weather quite a bit, and when it gets really hot, we are all working hard to keep the machines from overheating. The local kids from Lal Bazar often hang around outside, especially when they hear the machines running. We spend a lot of our time just managing the basics like the water supply and the power cables. It’s not a polished operation, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. My family and a few neighbors are usually the ones doing all the lifting and packing. We’ve been in this part of Islampur for a long time, so everyone knows where to find us in Asharu Basti. We just focus on the daily tasks, like cleaning the metal containers and making sure the batches are ready on time. It’s hard work, especially in the humidity of Uttar Dinajpur, but it’s what we know how to do to keep the place going.
