We’re based in the Vks Complex, up on the first floor in the Vandipetta area. Target Coir Traders And Exporters has been operating from this building for quite a while now. The smell of coconut fiber is something you get used to pretty quickly around here, though visitors always notice it. We have stacks of coir mats and bundles of raw fiber all over the place. It’s not the neatest office you'll ever see, as there’s always a bit of stray fiber on the floor no matter how many times we sweep it up. We spend our days talking to local farmers and checking the quality of the coir they bring in. Sometimes the quality isn't what we expected, so we have to sort through it all by hand. It’s honest, physical work, even if it makes your hands a bit rough and dry. The first floor gets a lot of bright light in the morning, which is nice for checking the colors of the fiber. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone fancy like that. It’s just us, a few old ledgers, and a lot of phone calls to the shipping agents. People in Vandipetta know us well enough by now. We have a small tea stall downstairs where we go when we need a quick break from the dust. The complex is always busy with other traders moving stuff around. We just focus on getting our bundles ready for export.
