Raipur Forgings Pvt. Ltd. is based at Plot No. 2 & 3 in the Urla Industrial Area. If you know Urla, you know it’s where all the heavy work happens. It’s dusty, it’s loud, and there is always smoke or steam somewhere in the air. We have these two plots side by side where we do the forging work. It’s a tough environment, honestly. The heat from the machines is something you never really get used to, especially during the summer months. Our guys are out there on the floor most of the day, and the office is just a small corner where we handle the invoices and the phone calls. We don’t have fancy furniture; everything has a thin layer of grit on it no matter how much we clean. The Urla Industrial Area isn’t a place for sightseeing. It’s a place for production. We focus on the metal parts we’re making and try to keep the machines running without too many breakdowns. Lunch is usually eaten quickly so we can get back to the floor. It’s hard, physical labor, and we don’t try to pretend it’s anything else. We’ve been part of this industrial landscape for a long time, and the rhythm of the hammers and the heat is just part of our daily life now at Plot 2 and 3. We just get through the shift together and start again tomorrow.
