Balwant Singh-Sons

Our shop is located at 156 on the Main Road in Taki Nagar, over in Unnao. It has been a family business for a long time now, with the sons taking over from what their father started years ago. The building sits right on the edge of the busy street, so we hear the honking and the crowds all day long. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just a simple counter and shelves that are packed with all kinds of items people in the neighborhood need. Most days start early by rolling up the metal shutters and sweeping the front step. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a small fan humming in the corner. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. It is the kind of place where someone might stop by just to chat for a bit before buying what they came for. We keep a ledger on the desk to track everything, and it is usually a bit messy with notes and lists. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the daily trade to get around to it. Being in Unnao for so long, we have seen the town change quite a bit, but our little corner on Main Road stays pretty much the same. It is just how we do things here.
