Jay Dattatray Trading Co

Down here at Jay Dattatray Trading Co, we spend most of our time inside the Krushna Mill Compound. We are at number 26, right on Railway Station Road in Unjha. It’s a lively part of town, especially with the trains coming in and out so close by. You can often hear the announcements from the station if the wind is blowing the right way. Our space in the compound is mostly filled with whatever goods we are trading that week. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the bags and crates piled up, but we know where everything is. The floor is concrete and there’s usually a bit of dust in the air from all the activity. We open up the shutters early in the morning to let some light in. Most of the day is spent talking to drivers or checking the quality of what’s coming in. It isn't a quiet office job. It's more about being on your feet and making sure the numbers match the physical stock. We have a small table where we sit to have our lunch and drink some tea. Sometimes the heat in 384170 gets to be a bit much, but we’re used to it by now. It’s just the way things are in the trading business. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the people around the mill compound have become like a second family to us. No big signs, just the work and the daily grind.
