If you head down to the basement of Janta Super Market on Patan Road, you'll find us. Shree Bhagwati Wooden & Worm Articles is located right across from the Sales Tex Office. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice, but we have to keep the lights on all day. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but people who know the market find their way down to us. We have all sorts of wooden items and these specific worm-style articles that are a bit different from what you see elsewhere. The shelves are packed pretty tight, and there isn't a lot of room to walk around once a few customers are inside. We spend a lot of time dusting off the inventory because being underground seems to attract more dust than usual. It’s a small family operation. We don't have a big marketing budget or a social media manager to run things. We just open up the shop in the morning and wait for people to come in. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to Janta Super Market for years. We try to be helpful and show people what we have, but we don't push them to buy anything. It’s a quiet life in the basement, just surrounded by the things we’ve made or collected for the shop over the years. We take things one day at a time.
