Hari Om Auto Parts

Hari Om Auto Parts sits right near the main market in Uniyara Kasba, which is in the Tonk district. If you've ever spent time in this part of Rajasthan, you know how busy it gets around the market stalls in the afternoon. We have been working out of this spot for quite some time, and it feels like we know almost everyone who walks by. The shop is packed with shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling, mostly filled with boxes of parts that we've sorted through a thousand times. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the front shutters wide open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. You’ll often find a few motorbikes parked haphazardly out front while people come in to ask about a specific bolt or a cable they can't find anywhere else. It’s not the most organized place in the world, and there might be a little dust on the boxes, but we know where everything is. We don't spend much time on fancy displays or worrying about how the sign looks from the street. Our days are mostly spent talking to local drivers and mechanics who need something fixed right away so they can get back on the road. It’s a simple way to make a living, and being right here in the heart of the village makes us feel like a real part of the community.
