Kumarghat Organic Producer Company Limited

Our spot is right near the Laxmancharra JB School in Nabincharra. If you know the Kumarghat area, you probably know the school. Pranay Kanti Chakma is the one whose name is on the paperwork, but there are many of us involved in the day-to-day work. We are an organic producer company, which basically means we spend our time growing things the old-fashioned way. We don't have a lot of expensive equipment or tractors. Most of what we do is done by hand or with simple tools that have been around forever. The land near Nabincharra is good, and we try to take care of it as best as we can without using harsh stuff. Being near the school means there’s always some noise and activity around, which is nice. We aren't some distant company with a headquarters in a big city. We live right here. Our families go to the same markets and walk the same paths as everyone else. When someone asks what we do, we just tell them we grow food. There are days when the heat is too much and we have to take it slow, but mostly we are out there from dawn until it gets dark. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. People know us because they see us working. It’s just a straightforward way to earn a living while staying close to the ground. We hope to keep doing this.
