Birasini Tribal Women Krishi Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Ward No. 3 in Mudariya, which is a small part of B. Pali in Umaria. It’s a tribal area and most of the women here have been farming since they were kids. We operate from Kamlesh Singh’s place. It’s a simple setup because we spend more time in the fields than behind a desk. We call ourselves Birasini Tribal Women Krishi Producer Company Limited. Being a tribal women’s group, we have our own way of doing things that has been passed down for a long time. We handle everything from planting to the final harvest. Umaria is a beautiful place but it isn't always easy to make a living from the ground. We decided to form this company so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are sold. It’s better than working all alone. We all know each other in the village, so it felt natural to start working together officially. Sometimes we meet under the big trees to discuss the seeds or the fertilizers we need. We don’t use fancy words or have big presentations. We just talk about what’s real. The work is physical and tiring. Your hands get calloused and your back aches by evening. But seeing the green shoots come up makes it worth it. We are just trying to keep our traditions alive while making sure our families have enough. Life in Mudariya is slow but we are always busy with the soil.
